Gracie Barra Texas: This Brazilian Jiu–Jitsu, Self–Defense and Mixed Martial arts school is the result of a life time dream. After decades spent on the mats of Gracie Barra in Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte, training or teaching, I had on that sacred places some of the best times of my life. Jiu–Jitsu gave me everything and now I have been blessed to have the chance to do the next step: build a Gracie Barra school in Texas, the Lone Star State, always under the guidance of my Master Carlos Gracie Junior.

Texas (Clearlake/ Greater Houston Area) was chosen based on many reasons, but the main one is the great atmosphere and reception of the people. They understand that the benefits of Jiu–Jitsu are far beyond the facts of teaching you life saving techniques or putting your body in great shape. They know that they will get more self confidence, health, discipline and their lives will be changed for the better.

When asked, “What does Gracie Barra mean to you?” All of our students would have the same answer: A family. That is not fortuity. It is rather the result of life works of extraordinary individuals like count Mitsuyo Maeda, Carlos Gracie Sr., Rolls Gracie, Carlos Gracie Jr., and people like me who still dedicate their lives to the realization of their dreams and to the continuity of their legacies. In my case, after building one of the most successful schools in Brazil and in the world, Gracie Barra BH, counting with more than 65 Black Belts and countless world, Pan American, Nationals champions, life put me on that new path and I will do my very best, everyday, to make my dream come true and build one of the best Brazilian Jiu–Jitsu schools that this world have ever seen.
