The school will be closed Thursday November 26th  for Thanksgiving. Eat all you want, sit back, kick your feet up and relax with your family...you don't have to worry about the extra calories...because we are going to burn it all back off on Friday :)

The Wrestling class with coach Rivera will be held now every Wednesday, 5:30 pm.
The MMA mixed/sparring class will be held at 5:30 pm Mondays.
Not to forget that the Friday mornings are great becuase there is a 1:30 hour MMA/Nogi class. Sparring sessions are also done on this day , with emphasis to Grappling and Ground fighting.

SUPER FIGHT –MARCELO AZEVEDO X FROST MURPHY

Marcelo won 24 x 0 against a very game Frost Murphy who came to fight. Although Marcelo dominated the fight, Frost wouldn't go lightly, fighting out of every submission attempt. It was very exciting to watch and my respect go out to each of them.

            Gracie Barra defends their title again as the Atama Open Team Champions this year for the 2009 tournament. We dominated the competition more than doubling the nearest team in points scoring 59 all together.

The kids did excellent for their first tournament and took home the Gold for team champions this year as well.

Kristen Sommers - A role model and an active competitor at our school won a Silver Medal at Blue Belt light Feather weight womens division.

Marcelo Azevedo - One of our toughest training partners and head instructors, took home a Bronze Medal at Black Belt Medium Heavy Weight division and a Bronze in the Absolute division.

Romulo Barral - A shining star and technically brilliant member of our team, who recently taught an incredible workshop at our school, brought home another Gold Medal in the Black Belt Medium Heavy weight division.

  Chad Robinxeau - Head Instructor out of Gracie Barra Woodlands put on a great performance submitting his opponent in the first round via rear naked choke.

Lane Yarbrough -A very talented and exciting fight came to fight but was unfortunately TKOed in the First round by very good and game Ray Trujillo.

We will be closing the school SAT 11/07/09 to support our students at the atama open. Put on your Gracie Barra T-shirts and come out to support your brothers and sisters who are competing. We always have a great time whether we are competing or just hanging out together watching some great matches.
