Great results for the students of Gracie Barra Texas and Gracie Barra BH. On the 21st of February, our students did a great job at the Animal Fight Gear Grappling Tournament. Head Instructor Marcelo Azevedo won the absolute title of the event submitting all his oponents. Taylor Hebert, Blue Belt for 6 months only got 3rd place on the same division. Other students did also a great job, such as Jeremiah Matthews, Felix Lopes, Jesus "the model" Badillo, Austin Massei, Hanks, Nacife, Junichi San, Sean Fritz Maurice, Sean Kennedy, and many more! GOOD JOB, guys! At the Bushi Ban tournament, we have Camilo, Mark and Garcia getting second and third place on their divisions. Congratulations! At the 28 of Febraury, Professor Draculino, in behalf of Gracie Barra America and Texas, promoted Patrik Head, head instructor of Gracie Barra Nederlands to the well deserved Black Belt, after 14 years of training. A true example of great athlete and instructor. Congratulations, Pat! In the MMA arena, our very own Nick Felder scored one more win defeating the Guy Mezger prottegee, Cody Walker, by unanimous decision after a show of slams, mount positions, back controls, armbar and arm triangle attempts. Congrats, Nick! Now 3 x 0 in MMA. Professor Draculino's students, Rafael Sapo, Albert Crane and Romulo Barral also got the victory in MMA. Sapo( now 9-1 in MMA), defeated Alexandre Moreno via Knock Out in the 1st round, conquering the Ring of Combat 185 title. The event was held in Altantic City in the 21st of February. Albert and Romulo scored submissions ( Triangle and Rear Naked choke) in the ring of fire, held in Denver, Colorado, in the 28th of February. Great job by all the team for the results and support! |

Our very own Greg Bellomy and Nick Felder put on a show during the last Young Guns MMA card. The event, held at the Verizon Wireless center in Houston, in Feb. 6th, was a great display of techinque and courage, showing that the amatuer scene in Houston is here to stay. Greg won by decision against a very game and techincal oponent, ANTHONY RIOS/ U OF H MMA/ HOUSTON. The match was a Wrestling and BJJ war! Nick put on a show, winning by submission under strikes from the mount position at 1:00 minute of the 3rd round. His oponent, RANDY KAISER/ MSDA/ HOUSTON, is a great Muay Thai fighter but Nick was in his best and won. Congrats to our fighters, striking coach Kristen Sommers and to the organization of the Young guns for the beautifull work.
