As you may know, we have a lot of students headed out to California next week for the Worlds Jiu-Jitsu Championship. Many of them will be attending the open mat, Friday the 29th from 6pm-8pm. Half of the area will be dedicated to striking and the other half will be live rolling sessions, tournament style. This will not only be a great time to sharpen your own skills, but also a great service to our brothers headed out to California. Remember, as steel sharpens steel, so does one man sharpen another!

The Lone Star Beat Down is around the corner and our very own Greg Belomy will be fighting for the light weight title against the game Gimenez, the Pit Bull. This will be the main event of the evening. WE HAVE TICKETS AVAILBLE AT THE OFFICE. Please don't let untill the last minute and purchase them as soon as possible. We will keep them untill May 27th only. Our very own Martin Garcia got his fight canceled because his oponent can not make the weight ( 125 lbs.) previuosly agreed, but Garcia will keep his knife sharp for the next one.

Our students had a great time with Professor Flavio Almeida. His excelent techniques and natural ability to teach, shows why he is one of the cornerstones of Gracie Barra. His open guard seminar, held at GB Texas, Sunday the 17th was 2:30 hours of pure BJJ in its truest form. Thanks for all of you who showed up for that awsome event. We had a full house! Gracie Barra BH and Professor Draculino Black Belt , Joaquim Mamute Ferreira, subbmited his russian oponent Alexey Oleinik  in the first round by north and south choke in the M1-Nations Challenge. The event was held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, May 9th, and featured the dispute between teams. Brazil beat Russia, on a team composed by the Red Devil camp ( Fedor's team), by 5x0! congrats to the Brazilian warriors and specially to Mamute. It is about time to fly higher!

May 17 will be the date of a special event: Professor Flavio Almeida, current Pan Ams Black Belt champion and Runner up in the ADCC world submission Wrestling will be teaching at GB Texas. The time will be from 1:30 PM untill 3:30 PM. It is a great oportunity to learn from one of the best in BJJ. Remember that payment has to be done by May 13th. After that, the fee will be increased. Please call or go by the school to make your payment.
